At the helm of Outsource Copywriting is Aviva Engel, an award-winning editor with over two decades  of experience as a freelance journalist.

A prolific writer, Aviva has published in The National Post,  Jewish Telegraphic Agency,  The Times of Israel, The Forward,  Jewish News Syndicate, Lifestyles Magazine, Jewish Action, Kveller, The Jerusalem Post, Concordia University Magazine and Ami Magazine, among many others.

In 2005, Aviva approached a Montreal foundation with a proposal to launch a national health and lifestyle magazine for parents and caregivers of children with physical and/or cognitive challenges from birth to 18.

Struck by her vision and resolve, she was hired and told, “If you succeed in producing two magazines in the coming year, we’ll be impressed.”

And so Exceptional Family, Canada’s Resource Magazine for Parents of Exceptional Children was born. Under Aviva’s leadership, 23 issues of the quarterly magazine were produced, winning three consecutive Hygeia Awards from the Canadian Public Relations Society for excellence in Canadian healthcare communications. Exceptional Family garnered critical acclaim from clinicians, healthcare professionals and thousands of loyal readers and was sold in Chapters and Indigo bookstores throughout Canada.

In her role as founding editor of Exceptional Family, Aviva galvanized parents nationwide to advocate for their children with special needs and cultivated lasting relationships with key community leaders. Aviva was also  featured on Global TV’s This Morning Live and Parent Talk Radio on Montreal’s 940 News.

In 2023, Aviva won two Simon Rockower Awards from the American Jewish Press Association (AJPA) for Excellence in Writing about Women, and Excellence in Writing about Social Justice and Humanitarian Work,  for articles featured in  Jewish Action magazine.
